Yes, Ellen has voted herself off of American Idol. Sad, but true. Sources are telling us that Ellen is just so nice, and that she became a stressed, unhappy person when she knew she was going to have to tell people they can’t sing,ruining their life-long dreams.
On her website, she wrote:
I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.
Awe! Ellen is really as nice she seems on the show!
Meanwhile, Idol is going to seem like an entirely different show, with Simon,Ellen, and Paula gone, and rumors that Kara DioGuardi might not return.
Part of me thinks that change is good for the show, because after so many seasons, “Yo, dawg” and “You’re absolutely the worst singer I’ve ever heard(said with Brit accent)” become expected and redundant.
What do you think will happen, now that all these changes are being made to Idol? Will ratings soar, or will the show be off the air in a year?

Well, of course the ratings are going to tank even more now. They were already down this year. Not to mention, there was no talent on the show this year so there really was no reason to watch. All these changes prove that it's completely commercial and talent is the last thing on their minds!

You're definitely right, I was super disappointed with the lack of talent this year… In my opinion there were several who didn't make it past Hollywood week that should have… I understand that to a certain extent the judges/producers/whoever else has to think about the fact that AI is a television show & consider the ratings… but I'd be willing to bet the ratings were down from previous years because of the horrible singers they put through.

Im pretty sure I will all be over soon. Nothing lasts forever even though it WAS fun to watch but it's true that it's repetitive and we all already know what to expect. Oh Idol.
